I'm posting this from an Amtrak train on my way to DC to see a show at Kennedy Center. As is often the case, I find my experiences in the South cracking me up. It is charming and comical that people are still so folksy in 2007. Like petticoat junction.

Case in point the conductor just announced that "if the ticket machine is back up and running when we reach Rocky Mount" we will get our tickets.

Overheard "can I sit up there so my bad eye will be by the window?"
